Mohammed Muhraddin

Iraq (19382015)

Best known for his mixed media artworks, Muhraddin incorporates natural materials such as wood and sand into his work. The artist graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad with a degree in painting in 1959 and furthered his studies in Poland where he studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. His works are celebrated in his hometown of Iraq and worldwide, 3 large-scale murals are on display at the airports and festival square of Baghdad. 

He has exhibited his work in group exhibitions across the globe including the Institut du Monde Arabe, the British Museum and Columbia University. 

His work can be found in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in Baghdad and the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts.
