● Artist

Saliba Douaihy

Saliba Douaihy was a painter and stained glass artist. His early works were realistic and figurative but his move to New York introduced him to minimalism. The Lebanese landscape was his source of inspiration. During his move to New York, he was exposed to many postwar modernist abstract artists, including Mark Rothko, Hans Hoffman and Ad Reinhardt. Douaihy’s approach shifted towards large-scale canvases with a focus on minimalism, colour and form.
