Saad Yagan

Syria (b.1950)

Saad Yagan graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Aleppo in 1964 and the Faculty of Fine Arts, Damascus University in 1970. His figurative works explore human issues through the elongated figures he depicts. With a focus on movement, Yagan’s works are dynamic and he often paints cafe scenes, or scenes related to the performing arts.

He has held solo exhibitions with numerous galleries including Mark Hachem Gallery in 2014 and Katzen Centre for the Arts in Washington DC in 2007 among others.

Yagan’s works feature in public collections worldwide including the Musée Modern Museum, Brussels, Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts, and the Contemporary Art Museum of Montreal.
